When I first looked at the overview for this book and realized it was the first part of a serial, I almost returned it (had gotten it on KU). However, I began to read and just got 'involved' with the characters to the end. Now I'm going to read the second book, and probably all the rest even though the last one isn't out yet. It is a dark book, but not so dark as to be unappealing. I'm sure Book 2 will continue in the vein of angst, trials, etc. Hopefully, love does actually conquer all in the end.
I liked this book mostly. Itis very dark and mysterious. What I loved was the chase that Damian did for Risa. I think the office romance is fantastic!
I don't understand why they didn't discuss commitment to each other,I guess if they had the book would just end LOL
I really really hated the ending! Seems it just started and it ended with a big cliffhanger!
So you really need to like a dark romance to like this book. I don't mind one but I felt lead on by how the book ended.
I feel like I must go and read the next one
I do recommend this series it keeps you wanting to see what is next

I received this ARC for an honest review.
I was very unsure if I would enjoy this book when I started...This is unlike anything I've read before. The author has a dual POV and goes from past to present.
It takes a while to catch what's actually going on. Half way through I realized that the author did this intentionally.
If you liked Fifty Shades you'll freaking love this! This guy is totally controlling and into punishments. Weird punishments...
Damien comes across as cold and controlling at first. I really didn't like him. His character kind of weirded me out. I really didn't like his term of endearment for Risa(little girl). It was corney. I get that he is referring to her height. But still...Ew
Risa is different. She is well educated and smart. But innocent as well.
I found it hard to connect with these characters. The constant back and forth with the timeline sometimes made me feel like I was missing something. There really is no emotional build up to their relationship.
It took me until 80% to even feel compassion towards these characters.
The secrets that Damian is keeping do not fully come to light. And after his "accident" I'm left wondering how she met his family and how she is missing so much work to stay by his bed side.
All in all, I believe this is a brilliant book and writing style. I seriously hope that everything comes together in book two. I feel very lost at the moment and cannot wait to figure out what the heck is going on.

I guess if you have never read the previous publishing of My Love Forgive in Dark Desires you will be ecstatic with the book. After reading the novella in the Dark Desires collection, I was anxiously awaiting the next release. That novella was so hot and the relationship between Damien and Risa compelling to follow. I couldn't wait to see how Damien and Risa turned out. Never did I expect the novella to be published again here with basically a few chapters attached to it. I won't give any spoilers but there is an obvious point where anyone with a brain can see where it was headed. I thought to myself this is stupid and so obvious. I seriously knew from that moment how it would turn out. Not happy for paying for what I had already read with a poor adder. Really didn't seem like another book, just that the author had committed to a date and threw this out to take the place of it. Please please Anna Antonia if you read these, make the next one a real book or I will be done. I came back to edit this review because the majority of the book is great. So I do recommend it to a first time reader of the story, that is the best I can do.
I really enjoyed Damian. He was a great, dark character, but Risa is a wushu washy sub that no Dom in his right mind would want to deal with. Seriously. But, still, I have it 4 Stars because I loved it. I just hate that it’s a cliffhanger.
